more felting fun

These are my creations from last night, my Spring Gnome didn't quite turn out as good as i hoped but he looks cute on the seasonal table.
made a orange for Daisy and Ben's play food stash ,so far they have 2 fried eggs 5 bits or ravioli,3 broad beans and now a orange :)

Ben's become quite attached to his umbrella so it came on our walk with us .

This is the face of guilt ! found Daisy busy unraveling a whole toilet roll! the Andrex puppy has nothing on Daisy.

last week we found a conker with a little shoot coming out so we took it home a planted it to see if it would grow and here it is now much to Ben's excitement. Not thought what I'm going to do with it when it get lots bigger though, anyone want a Horse-chestnut tree?

Found this book in a charity shop and its brilliant highly recommend it .

a Grumpy 'why isn't my pasta ready yet' face .

A lovely present from my kind husband x

Were going on a bear hunt

As soon as we had finished breakfast out came the dressing up box .
This is wizard Ben with his 'wand' ,all great wizards practise magic in their pants !

Daisy with her Shrek ears .

a dragon apparently ?!

in the afternoon Andy came home from work early to work on his maths degree, so while Daisy had a nap i decide me,Ben and Doodles would go for a walk ,Ben decided we were going on a bear hunt ! he also decided he was going dressed as a pumpkin and taking his umbrella . so off we went ...

after much swishy swoshy through grass and squelch squerch through mud we found a a cave (well sort of) and so we tiptoed tiptoed and found a not so scary bear (sneakily planted by mummy when Ben wasn't looking).

Ben was very excited to actually find a bear .

Ben gave him a shoulder ride on the rest of our walk. it was a very sweet .

Then he showed bear all the fun of the playground .
It was a really fun walk and according to Ben next time we are looking for a Gruffalo !

Dinosaurs and lemons

The morning started off with some dinosaur racing (cow joined in too)

Then a walk in the Nature reserve where the pixies spent ages and ages throwing tiny stones in the water .

We lost Doodles and when she appeared from the undergrowth she had rolled in Fox scent and she smelt discusting im sure she thought she smelt lovely the doggy version of Channel No5.

After dinner we made are first ever homemade playdough as the shop bought playdoh Ben had been bought for christams off a friend had finnaly dryed out ,which i must say i was glad to see the back of!
It worked really well, Ben helped out but got bored so went and fell asleep on the sofa .
Leaving me the fun job of giving Doodles a bath ,she hates having a bath so wouldnt get in the bath so i had to pick her up ,ugh !the smell was horrid it really made me gag. used Andy shower gel as it is all nice and lemon smelling it did the trick and now she smells like lemons (not for long im sure).

wet dog .

Biscuit and a play with mummys freshly made pinky playdough.

Daisy relaxing in Doodles bed . so now i have a dog that smells of lemons and a Daisy that smells of dog :)

weekend adventures

On Saturday we got on the train and went to Litchfield for the day we had a really lovely day looking round the shops and walking by the river .
We found a park with a massive children's playground in it and the pixies had a good run about in the sun that's when the slightly unfortunate incident happened ...we had to take the pram with us because Ben isn't completely recovered from his sickness&Diorea bug so we thought it was a bit much expecting him to do lots of walking ,so when the pixies were having a wonderful time playing with Daddy i was in charge of the pram and i stopped to take a photo and the pram rolled into the river ! i nearly fell in with the camera trying to catch it :( it made such a big splash i think we both just stood staring in shock then some kind people helped Andy fish the pram out and all our belonging that were in the pram that were now bobbing about in the river .
Everything was drenched all our picnic and the spare pants and nappies for Ben and Daisy and some books we had got from a charity shop , i didn't know whether to laugh or cry then i started worry about what if Daisy or Ben had been in it and felt SO guilty .
Andy bought me a ice cream to cheer me up but then we found we had lost Daisy's Winnie Pooh comfort blanket (toodle)! so ended up running about desperately looking for it (she cant sleep without it) thankfully i found it on a tree branch (thew) !
Despite all that we did have a good day and we all came home in one piece if a bit soggy .

Me and the pixies ,couldn't get Daisy back in the sling she was determined to walk .

Ben in a bush.
We woke up too late to go to church (all tired out from yesterday's adventures) so i let Andy sleep in while we went for a rather windy walk .

some beautiful blossom coming through .

Another content playing together moment captured.

Animal man

Caught Daisy painting Doodles with her 'dodot' (yogurt) thismorning doodles didnt seem to mind and quite happily licked it off and now has a faint wiff of strawberry about her .
The pixie's are now all recovered after a nasty case of the sicky's . My Ecoballs i ordered turned up just in time to help wash all the sicky clothes etc am really pleased with them and for some reason felt myself saying 'wow they actually work' ! ? have however swapped two poorly children for a slightly poorly dog who in the night ate my hairband and and then sicked it up , ugh! will the vomit never end (sigh).
for some reason which i have given up trying to find out this photo will only go in sideways GRRRR! it was a lovely moment captured of the pixie's playing together(without screaming and tears) with their stone and pinecone collection .who said children need expensive toys :)
In the afternoon was the much awaited Animal Man at the childrens centre it was a man who bought his pet collection to show and talk about with the children and it was brilliant he showed us a giant snail, cockroaches, giant millipede ,spider, snake ,rabbit and rat. all the children got to hold or stroke the variouse wee beasty's Ben loved it but Daisy was Facinated by it she couldnt get enough of stroking the cockroach and wouldnt leave the rabbit alone she even tryed to climb in the rabbits carry cage after it . Had a really scarry moment when i thought Ben was gonna step on the Giant Millipede!!! eeeeekkk

poorly day

Had a really sleepless night last night as both Ben and Daisy were sick in the night so lots of changing sleepsuits and bed sheets but in the end neither of them wanted to sleep in there own bed so they both slept in bed with me (Andy slept in the spare room he goes a bit funny over vomit) . Daisy really isnt one for co-sleeping she spent the night kicking Ben and singing which was all very sweet but just not in the middle of the night ! then she woke us up at 6.00am !!! with more singing !
They seemed ok in the morning so i gave them some toast and a little bit of milk ,BIG mistake both of them were sick again .
Think i have worn my poor washing machine out with the mountain of pukey washing thank goodness it was a sunny day so i could hang it all outside to dry . We spent the rest of the morning reading books together and feeling a bit sorry for ourselves.

In the afternoon they both seemed lots better so i stuck Daisy in the sling and we went for some fresh air in the park .
we were all starting to feel a bit antsy stuck inside .Daisy was happy to sit in the sling and cuddle up to me But Ben was full of beans and did lots of running about .
This was a nice horse we met, she let Daisy stroke her and posed quite nicely for photos unlike Ben who was much more interested in the electric fence .

little tree hugger .

i just had to get a photo of this today it really made me giggle ,after Ben was sick on the kitchen floor i thought id give it a good mop so when we came to make dinner it was still damp so i told Ben he would get wet socks if he came in the kitchen so off he went and came back with his cardboard stacking blocks on his feet so his socks wouldnt get wet :) its like a little peak into how his toddler brain works .
After we had our tea it all went puke ways again unfortunatly , Daisy didnt eat any food and she was a bit lathargic so i had her sat on me with her head on my shoulder and before i had time to move she covered me in puke all in my dreads down my top and my legs ! Ben started screaming and Andy ran off trying not to be sick !
poor Daisy she was really upset she had been sick all over her 'Toodle' (winnie the pooh blankie) thankfully i have a spare:) clever mummy moment :)
So on went the washing machine again ...
They are both asleep now so hopefully will stay like it with no 'incidents' in the night . fingers crossed all's well tommorow x.

choo choo

Today was Childrens Funday at Churnet Valley Steam Railway not very romantic for valentines day but we had a really good day and the pixies loved it .
Daisy got a snake made for her by a ballon artist which she chewed on so not surpisingly it didnt last long ( ive got its deflated body in my pocket still)
Ben had a teddy bear made which survived the day intact.

This is daddy and Ben charging up the hill to catch the bus home we were cutting it a bit close so we all power walked up a huge hill so gonna have thighs of steel after that mad dash . Thankfully we didnt miss the bus or i might have cryed as it was a 2hour wait for the next bus .

me and Daisy posing by the toilets

This cute little train was brilliant it kept letting off huge clouds of steam so much that you couldnt see for white steam ,kind of like the train equivalent of a fart i suppose :)
It was the best valentines present a mummy could have spending it with my little happy family x
