The week in mostly pictures

He gives fashion tips for spare change :)
Ben getting his groove on , this was what we did when we were getting the pixies ready for bed its a slight imrovement on the naked dancing he'd been doing earlyer in the dark with his torch .cant wait to get these photos out when he's older heee heee .

I saw this on the crafty Crow, so after a very tiring day at soft play i thought we would make a T.T.T (tired toddler tent) or a T.M.T(tired mummy tent) it worked a treat, i got to lie down and Ben was quite happy to lie next to me and read books for an hour while Daisy had a nap upstairs. When daddy got home he got dragged in and made to read Ben's favourite book 'Penguin'.
We will definaley be doing this again i think as Ben wont have napps anymore its the perfect way to get him to recharge his toddler batteries so hes not too tired for the rest of the day and gets grumpy. Did however notice the underside of the dinning table is a bit gross so will have to give it a clean before we make another T.T.T .

Found a perfect use for those horrid trays that come with some fruit and veg from shops they make a brilliant paint tray for doing sponge painting hurray! couldnt find a old sponge so cut up the pixies bath sponge (ooops bad mummy) but we had a lovely time sponge painting with some rather naff paint i got from Woolworths closing down sale (was only 75p!). and it wasnt long before the sponges were abandened in favour of hands .

icey ducks

Today was very cold so took some bread and old cabbage and went to visit the ducks at the nature reserve . Only a small part of their lake wasnt frozen over so they were all slipping and slidding on the ice .Ben kept eatting the stale bread which was meant for the ducks but we managed to feed some of them .
It was so cold Daisy didnt even want to have a walk which is most unlike her so it was just a quick walk round the lake then home which took us ages because Ben said his bottom hurt ! so it was a very slow shuffle home where i discovered he had done a big poo in his pants ! (toilet training going painfully slow *sigh*)
Ben said this was the moon !

Had a nice afternoon looking at photo albums with Ben while Daisy had a nap then it was out with the playdoh which is their favourite activity at the moment . Had a bit of a curtain crisis when the curtains along with the rail fell on me when i was getting daisy up from her nap ,it pulled some plaster out with it so i couldnt get them back up :( thankfully its doesnt get light too early yet ! thats now 2 rooms of our house with no curtains (our bedroom has no curtains either ) theres a job for D.I.Y Daddy :) yeah right !

snow snow snow and more snow

We've had lots and lots of snow so as we dont have descent snow very offten i felt we had to make the most of it, so we were out in the white stuff everyday .grandma and grandad (my mum and dad) came down from lancashire for a couple of days so we dragged them out with us on our many walks in the snow .

Me and Ben made some Spelt flour bread which was deliciouse and everyone really enjoyed it with our homemade butternut squash soup they enjoyed it maybe too much as Andy told me i have to bake bread everyday so we dont have to buy bread anymore !! so as a compramise ive decided to bake bread every other day ,i really like the idea of not having to buy bread anymore no plastic bags ,E numbers and large amounts of salt ! so we will see how we go with our bought bread boycot :)

snowballs

Today we woke up to lots of lovely snow so as soon as we were dressed in our hats and coats we headed to the park which we had all to ourselves . The sun was out so managed to get lots of nice photos of the snowy park and the pixies.
Ben discovered snowballs but also found out that snow is cold to pick up so cryed till i found him a pair of gloves from the bottom of my bag . I discovered that i need to get thicker gloves and socks before more snow comes !

Not quite sure what they are both looking at here !?

Daisy loved the crunchy feeling of snow under her feet .
We latter went swimming which we havn't done in ages ,Ben and Daisy Loved it ,i found it very tiring its supprising how exuasting bobbing about in a baby pool and playing with Ladybird floats can be ! or am i just very unfit ? mmmm anyway we must go more regularly as we all had alot of fun, although had to bribe Ben to get him out of the pool by telling him when we got home we would do some baking so we made Apple muslie crumble which was scrummy and just what we needed after all that swimming .

playdoh and mud

Today we awoke to heavy rain and wind so plans for going on a nice walk were put aside .Ben discovered the playdoh he and Daisy got for christmas so they spent the morning making weird little men .soon after i took a photo these two were put into the toy frying pan and turned into 'food' which kept them entertained for hours .

After dinner thankfully it stopped raining and so we all went out and let off some steam .Its amazing what a bit of fresh air and getting out of the house can do for you, i think we all felt so much better for a run about and the obligotry jump in muddy puddles. we even collected some more bits for our seasonal table which Ben loved doing although by the time we got home our bag was mostly filled with muddy stones and sticks :)

first post

This is my first post in my first ever blog :) im hoping this blogg will be a record of my 2 children growing up and the day to day stuff we do and just something special to look back on .

These are my two children Benjamin who is 2 (nearly 3) and Daisy who is 17months they fill my days with noise ,mess and laughter (and the odd tear here and there).
This is our 'other' child Doodles she is a blessing as she drags us out of the house everyday even in the cold and wet and gets my children chasing her round the park .
