Wheres my weekend gone?

Not quite sure where my weekend went it seems to of been over in a flash !
Friday morning we got the call that someone wanted to come and look at the house so it was panic stations while we cleaned and tided up .Unfortunately the couple that came where not ver positive about our house saying it 'was smaller than they were used to ' and our second bedroom is too small and where were they going to park there car? and would it be possible to knock the backyard wall down so they could turn it into a car park ! so not holding out much hope of them buying it :(
Saturday my mum and dad came down from Lancashire for a visit and to help us do some jobs round the house .

Daisy insisted on wearing her summer hat from last year despite it now being too small .

Asterix and friend playing in the plant pots

Ben wearing daddy's work shoes

Sunday Daisy decided the carpet looked hungry so fed it rice crispies and when we came to hoover it all up the hoover decided to break ....again. Its never been the same since i accidentally sucked up a Igglepiggle hand puppet :(

Think ive aged a couple of years today

Sock cat .
We had to get up early and take doodles to the vets so somehow we managed to leave the house at 8.30am (new Rushton Family world record) as we had to be at the vets by 9.30am. Its a 2mile walk so we had to get the double pram out from retirement . It was another clear blue sky day so we packed a picnic to have in the big park in town. sweated and huffed and puffed my way to the vets as unfortunately its all up hill , Ben couldn't quite understand why we were leaving Doodles behind and didn't want to go but after i said the magic word 'picnic' he soon cheered up.
we bought some essentials first ...books from the charity shops, carrot cake and Goodies crisps :)
After eating the picnic the pixies headed for the 'Sensory playground' .

Daisy on the giant piano keys

Spinney thing

boing boing!

Then after much persuasion we left the playgrounds and went to look at the lake and the ducks.
I Feel extremely guilty and horrified by what happened next Andy has reassured me it wasn't my fault but crikey i feel awful.
we were watching the ducks and decided we would start walking home so i put Daisy back in the pram and while i was doing up the straps i heard a small splash and when i turned round Ben had gone i went over to where he was stood which was about 2 meters away and looked in the water and there was no sign of him and i think in that second my heart stopped then thank god he popped back up to the surface with a terrified look on his face i don't think i will ever forget and is making me tearful just thinking about it now . i pulled him out and cuddled him to try and calm him down and all he could say was 'hair wet ' thankfully i had a spare pair of trousers and pants with me and he wasn't wearing his coat so i got him dry and wrapped him in my coat to keep warm .
He seems ok now and is his usual happy self i think its maybe upset me more It was the singly most terrifying experience ever i keep playing it over in my mind looking in the water and not seeing him and the feeling of panic is just awful .
I read somewhere (cant remember where) but they called these near misses a 'free one' like they were sent to warn us and next time we might not be so lucky ,so must not dwell and beat myself up (easier said than done) and must learn from it so it will never happen again or maybe grow another set of arms and some more eyes that would defiantly help too :)

Chickens apparently :)

Andy bought some lovely flowers for me on the way home from picking up Doodles he said they were my early mothers day present .
Doodles came home in the evening a shadow of her normal self :( they had shaved her Chin and neck and the tear was much bigger that i thought ,shes got lots of stitches and looks very sore we have two different types of medicines and she isn't allowed to run about or jump for the next 10 days ! her best friend (my dad ) is coming up at the weekend so that will cheer her up .
I think we might stay in tomorrow :)

Horrid end to a lovely day

This morning we went to Stay&Play at the children's centre and had a good time making mothers day cards and playing with the toys and one of my Friends gave me this beautiful ring as she said it doesn't fit her anymore ! i really love it ,will just have to make sure i don't lose it now.
In the afternoon we went to the park ,the sky was blue without a cloud in the sky so we stayed in the park for ages playing and looking for insects and then daddy came after work and met us in the park for more fun and games.

looking for mini beasts

My beautiful doggy companion .
Then it all went not so fun , a dog i haven't seen before (and i know alot of dogs as were in the park everyday) came running across the playing field with the owner running after it shouting and it launched itself at Doodles and the owner had to pull her dog off doodles it was so nasty .We went home and discovered that doodles neck was all ripped and bloody so we quickly took her up to the vets she was given antibiotics and is going to be anaesthetised and stitched up tomorrow and the vet said it would cost around £150 ! eeek it turned out to be one expensive walk in the park ! just feeling a bit cheesed off now !

funny faces,horses and a boat

I asked Ben what he would like to do this morning and he chose a walk in the park (just for a change ) so we took two apples that were looking a bit sorry for themselves with us to feed to the horses .They happily gobbled them up :) which was the highlight of the walk apart from seeing some men putting some tree branches through a chipper both the pixies were wide eyed in amazement ,Daisy from the safety of the sling as it was very noisy.

This was dinner they are supposed to be faces but while i was doing the eyes realised i didn't have anything for mouths so used the leftover crusts so they look a bit 'odd' the pixies didn't mind though and loved the round sandwich's .

Decided it was about time i use some of the egg boxes Ive been collecting for crafts when five of them fell out of the cupboard this morning .
Ben put so much green paint on two of the crafts that they are still wet now so we didn't get to finish them today . but mummy had a rather good idea (if i do say so myself) of what to do with a left over egg box lid......

we made it into a boat! with the help of a straw cut in half and a children's wallpaper boarder sample cut into sail shapes .
The Asterix pirate was the first in to try out the new ship.

while sorting out my sock draw (honest) i found a tiny pair of unused baby socks so made this super cute sock friend .

New door

This morning was the first parents forum meeting at the children's centre where a group of mummy's talk about what they would like to do and see at the centre and plan day trips etc it was really good and we've planned lots of exciting things for the coming month :) it was also a big day as i left Ben and Daisy in the creche provided which was the first time i have ever left them (apart from with my mum) they didn't seem to mind and didn't even notice when i went down the corridor to the meeting but half an hour into the meeting my mummy senses were tingling and Daisy was brought to me hysterical all covered in tears :( she clung to me and snuggled into my chest and instantly calmed down . Felt SO guilty for leaving her :( Ben on the other hand had a lovely time and had this painting to show for it .
Love this photo .

This is Ben being a witch .
The afternoon was not so much fun we had to stay in and wait for the Safestyle man to mend our backdoor which was a right pain as the weather was gorgeous and we couldn't go out and play so we had to make do with the backyard . Daisy did some gardening and emptied all my freshly planted herb seeds into a larger plant pot with all my summer bulbs ! so will be interesting to see what starts growing out of the plant pot .

After tea Daddy and the pixies went on a important hunter gatherer mission ....to get some toilet roll !

before bed Daddy was playing his guitar and Ben unprompted started drumming along on a empty box it was such a nice moment ,hes definitely a boy in need of some bongos.

A bedtime Daisy pixie.

A sock called sid

This weekend we kept the D.I.Y to a minimum and only did little jobs like fixing a broken door handle and painting inside my built in wardrobe which was really hard as there was lots of tiny money spiders in each corner of the wardrobe and i didn't want to kill them so all the corners of my wardrobe arnt painted ,lets hope any prospective buyers don't look too closely :)
We had a lovely walk in the park Saturday morning and somehow managed to lose Doodles ! so off i went to find her while Andy and the pixies stayed on the playground i was starting to worry when she appeared out of nowhere busily munching something yucky!

Wobbly animal fun with daddy

Andy decided he was going cycle to the estate agents to sign some paperwork much to Ben's delight.

Which left me pixie free (Daisy was having her nap) so i planted our summer bulbs and hanging basket .....Bliss :) although i did get a phone call about 20minutes latter asking what the address of the estate agents was as Andy couldn't find it .. doh!

Finished my first sock softy from a book i got for my birthday called 'Stray sock sewing' . Ive called him Sid . I didn't make the kitty though, but Ben insisted he was in the photo with Sid .

Mummy's Pixie princess

We took Doodles for a run in the park today ,we spent quite awhile watching the ants on the steps Ben was fascinated .

This is such a cute photo ,Ben saw this clump of daffodils and went and sat next to it and told me to take a photo and then kissed them all bye bye ! mummy's little nature lover .

A Horse we met on our travels.

After fighting over the blanket they finally decided mummy's crazy idea of sharing it wasn't such a bad idea after all!

missing socks

This is our rather yucky utility room home to dirty washing ,wellys, spiders ,dog leads and the nappy bucket and was in need of a lick of paint so i reluctantly painted it magnolia .I did find all the missing socks too so was quite a productive afternoon.

Today the board went up on the front of the house so we are officially For Sale only problem was we hadn't yet told Andy's mum who was coming for a visit that we were selling the house (board wasn't due for another 2 days !) oops! so she had a bit of a shock we she arrived at our house !
Ben fell asleep in his pop up tent all the excitement of watching mummy paint the utility room was too much for him :)
am feeling exhausted from all the tidying and painting and have a weekend of more 'Jobs' round the house ahead of us :(
but on a happy note Daisy's christening present from my best friend Rannia and the pixies soon to be fairy godmother arrived today it was a membership to the Sylvanian families club (which was my favourite toy as a child and still is ) it came with a badge and grandma and grandad rabbit SO cute ! The most exciting bit was it also came with instructions on how to knit little hats and scarfs for the sylvanians! wow! can see what I'm going to be doing for the next couple of weeks.
