The day we arrived after a unexpectedly peaceful train journey we went for a walk in the sunshine to a beautiful wood aptly named 'Spring Wood' and it more than lived up to its name the forest floor was covered in thousands of bluebells it was stunning.
pixies running through the bluebells
A man on a horse and cart arrived so Ben wanted to stroke the horse and the man kindly let Ben sit on the horse which you can tell by the photo he was really chuffed about it, the horse wasn't so excited and just carried on munching the grass.
You can just about see Doodles in this photo she loved the woods too ,I'm sure she was imagining she was a wolf as she galloped through the undergrowth :) she was a blur of black .
Doodles couldn't resist scrabbling up on this big tree to join us for a photo opportunity.
Daisy and Grandad.
On Grandads 60th birthday we all went out for a meal and Daisy really enjoyed herself i forgot to bring a bib so she covered herself in pasta sauce.
After the meal we all went to the park in the drizzel but Ben and Daisy didn't seem to mind .
On Wednesday it rained so much we resorted to going to the soft play centre .
It rained even more so Grandad spend quite a lot of the time reading stories to the pixies, their favourite was a old book of my brothers called Gumdrop by Val Biro about a vintage car and its owner .
The rain stopped long enough for a walk thankfully as we were all getting cabin fever .
proudly showing off her stick.
Ben inspecting a tractor.
He then noticed a tiny green fly on the wheel and spent ages watching it slowly walk across the wheel of the tractor.
On our last day we went to Clitheroe for a look round the charity shops and the castle. Unfortunately the castle was closed so we could only look at it . We did find a nice playground however.
Me untangling Ben from the rope climbing frame.
Clitheroe castle (its only a baby castle)
A beautiful tree made out of little paths next to the playground.
The day we went home there was just enough time before our train for another walk round the village where my family live.
We didn't get to do half the activity's we had planned because of the wet weather but we still really enjoyed ourselves despite me being half asleep most of the time after co-sleeping with two fidgety toddlers one who claimed there were spiders in her bed and another who was scarred of the lampshade in our bedroom !

Despite the lack of sleep i was sad to be leaving such a beautiful green place and Ben was sad to be leaving Grandma and grandad and cryed on the train home .
I think we will have to book a sunny week and come back for another week latter in the summer .
It looks as though you had a lovely week :)
