Well its been a horrid week me and Andy and the pixies have all come down with suspected swine flu ,what we thought was just a bad cold got worse and worse .Andy started worrying about me so made me phone NHS Direct which finally led to a middle of the night diagnosis from a nurse who wanted to get my GP to give me Tamiflu !? which there was no way i was going to take .
So decided to fight it off with lots of fruit and water and watching Shrek on dvd :)
The pixies didn't seem to have it anywhere near as bad as me and Andy which was a massive relief ,they just had to put up with very tired ,achy mummy and daddy who have lived in their Jammie's all week :)
This was our first trip to the park in a over a week and the pixies had a wonderful time playing football with daddy and running about ......

and rolling down hills.....

but most of all enjoyed splashing in the big puddles. Daisy did a very flexible yoga move while stood in this puddle and dipped her head in the puddle, our camera is slowly falling to bits so i couldn't get a photo of it :(

if you look reeeeeeeeeeeallly closely you can just about see my iccle baby bump :) i had a very vivid dream that baby is born at 36wks and 3 days on a Wednesday weighing 6lbs and is a boy and we call him Talasin ! Andys written it on the calendar to see if it comes true :)

This was the biggest puddle EVER ! and the pixies got soaked running and jumping in it but they absolutely loved it !

Lovely present from a lovely lady :)

I was gobsmacked today when this beautiful pregnant little lady arrived on our doormat from the super talented Tracy http://arlenkern74.blogspot.com.
I cant thank you enough Tracy for such a gorgeous gift your kindness has really made my week as we are all feeling pretty rubbish at the moment with a horrid cold (or in Andy's case Man flu ).
I love her little baby bump and her hair aaawwwwww ! can you tell I'm pleased :)
I love it so much and will treasure her forever thank you again :) xx

Dreaming of my chickpea

Well this is mamas little Chickpea the one behind all the vomiting and feeling dreadfull .
Had my scan at 14wks as i was far too lazy to get round to registering with the midwife and also wanted to put off receiving the inevitable news that I'm not allowed a homebirth (had a c-section with Daisy who was undiagnosed breech) and to make matters worse i have to give birth on the consultant unit and be monitored through labour which rules out my back up plan of a hospital waterbirth not even sure how much of a active birth i can have while attached to a monitor !
After my meeting with the midwife i felt pretty down and fearful that i would have a similar birth experience as i did with Ben which to cut a long birth story short was not the experience i had hoped for with impatient midwifes telling me to 'be quiet'and 'shhhh' and telling me off when my water broke on their nice clean floor and while i was pushing the midwife chatted about job cuts and anal pads and held my legs down and made me feel a big inconvenience.
So after getting over my initial panic and disappointment I'm starting to feel better about it mainly due to something i read the day before in the latest issue of The Mother magazine (big thanks to Gina for recommending this wonderful magazine X) it was a article written by a Doula Keeley farrington and in the article she writes about how she encourages women to 'dream their birth' and 'build vivid mental pictures of the best birth imaginable' and quotes the saying "that which you must have, must first be dreamed" which has really helped me stay positive and instead of imagining the worst has helped me focus on the peaceful birth id love to have and will have :)

Hurray for the weekend

We started the weekend early on Friday with a drizzly walk in the park ,i was having some serious hot flushes and a nice cooling walk was just what i needed and Daisy got to wear her new pre-loved wellys .
Someone had left a skateboard in the park and Ben could resist a go .

Saturday we went to Hanley park and had a yummy picnic .

Today we went for a walk to the nature reserve ,i don't know if it was the very hot weather we have been having but the lake was really dirty and very very smelly . So we walked round quickly as my super pregnant sense of smell made it unbearable and headed to the playground.

Daisy climbed to the top of one of the skate board ramps and started dancing away.

of course no trip to the nature reserve is complete without Doodles rolling in Fox scent ! i had to wash her twice she smelt so bad ,not sure why but tomato ketchup is supposed to be good for getting the Fox smell out so will have to buy a couple of bottles and have the camera ready for a photo of Doodles covered in ketchup :)

This little fella is my weekend craft make made from a fuzzy wool jumper from a charity shop. also finally learned how to blanket stitch thanks to the magic of Youtube yay :)

This morning saw Another 6.00am wake up call from the pixies ,while i slowly woke up with a coffee on the sofa Daisy played in her 'ollie' bed that Nana got her from the charity shop she works in.

Today was also my first midwife appointment ,Ive been putting it off for weeks and now I'm 13 week i thought it was about time i went . I was dreading it for some reason but despite Ben sitting under my chair the whole time it went ok, and have a scan on Monday :) yay. Eventually got sent home with an enormous pile of leaflets and booklets about allsorts of rubbish and even a ring binder about how to handle my finances now I'm pregnant and affordable childcare !? needless to say my paper recycling bag is well fed tonight :)

Daisy was so tired she fell asleep on the floor .

Smeagol our kitty has spent has had a busy day moving from one shady spot to another shady spot but then we De-flead him so heres a photo of him giving me a kitty cat evil stare.

Daisy is suffering with bad prickly heat rash so trying to keep her as cool as possible so lots of running about naked but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be helping much. really hoping the weather gets cooler soon for my poor Daisy's sake .
